I have tried several other weight loss programs and I can tell you that NOTHING COMPARES TO DR. FOOD. Here is the proof:

I ate my way through ovarian (2006) and breast cancer (2011). Basically, it was five years of hell followed by three more years of out-of-control eating.  Facing cancer was so stressful that I lost focus on every other aspect of my health.  As a result, I gained 110 pounds (from 150 pounds to 260 pounds between 2006 and 2014).

It was hard to look in the mirror, ride my bike, and work out - all things that I’d previously enjoyed.  Not to mention, wearing a size 22 is just so depressing!

In March 2014, I decided I’d had enough and I went online and did a bit of investigation into weight loss programs. I started gaining weight after moving to the US from Europe in 2012.  It probably happened because I went from a very labor intensive job in Italy to an office job here in the States.  My wife first noticed that I was gaining weight and brought it to my attention. She was right, I had ballooned to 250 pounds.

There were other signs that I had become heavier which were hard to ignore:  all of my clothes felt tight or didn’t fit at all, I noticed that I had less energy throughout the day, and physical tasks that I used to do with no trouble had become exhausting.

I started with Dr. Food in October 2013. By February 2014, I had lost 27.4 pounds and let's just say I had one of the best Valentine's ever. Before joining Dr. Food I was about 20 pounds overweight.  It may not seem like much extra fat, but it was enough to make me feel lazy and even aggravate my joint pain.

A friend of mine told me about the Dr. Food weight loss center and I signed up.  During the initial consultation, the team at DR. Okay, I’ll admit, I started this program because my mother made me.  During Christmas of 2013 I let myself become heavier than I have ever been and mom insisted that I do something about it.  She even helped me research many different weight loss clinics and we both picked Dr. Food.  Of course, I wanted to lose weight for myself as well, but I needed the initiative that my mother gave me.  Although the first appointment was emotional it was also very insightful and encouraging.  Instead of just wanting to get me "thin" the Dr. Food team wanted to get me healthy, which was extremely important to me because I did not want to go from one extreme on the scale to the other.
